  • Prep

  1. 1.) Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F
  2. 2.) Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. 3.) Add the butter and mix with a fork or pastry cutter until fine granules form
  4. 4.) Add sugar and mix.
  5. 5.) For the cinnamon, keep adding it according to your tastes. The way I do it, is that I keep mixing in cinnamon until it turns a goldenish color.
  6. 6.) Add the milk, vanilla, and honey and stir until dough forms. I usually do this part with my hands. (more milk or flour may be added if needed)
  7. 7.) Knead dough a few times on a floured surface, and roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness
  8. 8.) Use cookies cutters to cut into desired shapes. To make them look for authentic, you can cut them into rectangles or squares, and score them through the middle, but not enough to cut them in half.
  9. 9.) Place on a nonstick cookies sheet so that the sides are not touching.
  10. 10.) Bake in oven for around 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden.
  11. 11.) Cool on wire racks, and then place in airtight containers. You can store them in the refrigerator or out of the refrigerator. They stay fresh for around a week.
