"This warm seafood dip has the distinct flavor of Asiago cheese combined with the rich smoothness of cream cheese and the ever-popular parmesan, all wrapped up in your favorite marinara sauce! It is very similar to a popular chain restaurant's seafood dip."
In a 2-quart saucepan on medium-low, heat olive oil and blend in flour. Add to flour the reserved liquids from the shrimp and crab, stir well.
To this sauce, add cream cheese, salt, minced garlic, and horseradish. Stir until smooth. Add shredded asiago cheese and 2 tbsp. parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth.
When the cheese has melted and sauce is smooth, add chopped shrimp and crab; blend well. Simmer until heated through, stirring frequently so the mixture does not burn.
Finally, add evaporated milk and blend well.
Let sauce simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently so the mixture does not burn.
Spray a 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray. Add marinara sauce to cover the bottom and carefully spoon seafood mixture on top. Sprinkle with freshly shredded parmesan cheese and place in a preheated oven at 350 F, for 10 - 15 minutes, until heated through, but not browned on top.
Place sliced French bread on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Place under broiler for app. 1 minute or until bread is not quite toasted, but just a little crisp on top.
Place the 9” dish with dip in the center of a platter and arrange bread slices around it. Garnish with your favorite veggies or fresh herbs and serve!
*Evaporated milk can be substituted with half & half.
