"My grandmothers Kahlua. Either in a steaming hot cup of coffee, or an icey cool measure of half and half. It will become a delicious staple in your cubbard. It always seemed to appear around the holidays so I thought it would make a fitting contribution at this time of year. In tribute to my Grandmother Jessie McCloud Rivers"

  1. Boil water and sugar over medium heat for 45 minutes. Add powdered coffee and return to a boil then lower to a simmer for roughly 15 minutes more. Cool completely and add half the vanilla, the vodka then remaining vanilla. Pour into dark colored bottle and re-cap. Keeps for up to a year. At least this is the longest its ever lasted on Granny's shelf.
