In bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt then set aside.
In bowl beat brown sugar, butter, and vanilla until creamy, add egg, beat well. Gradually add flour mixture.
Stir in 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips and nuts. Spread into foil-lined 9" square baking pan. Bake 23-25 minutes.
Immediately after removing from oven, sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. When chips are shiny, spread evenly with back of spoon. When cool, chill 5-10 minutes to set chocolate. Cut into 2"x1" bars.
