  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. In bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt then set aside.
  3. In bowl beat brown sugar, butter, and vanilla until creamy, add egg, beat well. Gradually add flour mixture.
  4. Stir in 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips and nuts. Spread into foil-lined 9" square baking pan. Bake 23-25 minutes.
  5. Immediately after removing from oven, sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. When chips are shiny, spread evenly with back of spoon. When cool, chill 5-10 minutes to set chocolate. Cut into 2"x1" bars.
