  1. In large saucepan, combine crushed tomatoes and paste. Heat on medium low heat, until blended. Stir in olive oil and wine. Add garlic. Tear basil leaves and add. Lower heat and simmer approximately 45 minutes, or until all flavors are blended. Add pinch of sugar if tomatoes are slightly bitter, and salt and pepper to taste.
