Japanese Fruit Cake


"This was my 105 year old grandmothers recipe that she had made for years...and years. It is very moist and the icing is what makes the cake. This recipe submission is in memory of my grandma who passed away last year."

  1. Add vanilla and almond extract to white cake mix. make 2 layers
  2. Split batter of spice cake in half and add all spice, cinn, and raisins.
  3. Bake cake mixes as directed on pkgs.
  4. Put one layer of the white cake on platter. add some filling. Then put on
  5. spice cake and add more filling. Finally put on remaining layer of white and rest of filling on top and sides. Garnish top with cherries.
  6. This makes a huge cake that actually gets better with age as the filling makes it's way into the nooks and crannies of the cake making it juicier.
