"This is a must make Holiday stuffing! This, my sister's recipe, uses sausage (use high quality like Bob Evans), boxed mix, pumpernickel, parsley, and lots of other herbs. I always double/triple the recipe because it dissapears so fast! It actually feeds fewer than 12 since everyone gets 2nds and 3rds."
Place stuffing mix and pumpernickel pieces in a large bowl.
In a skillet cook sausage, drain. Add butter, celery, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, sage, paprika, salt and pepper, and sauté until onions are translucent. Add to stuffing mixture and stir thoroughly.
Pour chicken broth and enough water to moisten + a bit more and toss.
Cover and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes more or until just browned on top.
