Boil potatoes to be mashed. Fry bacon crispy to be crumbled up. Dice onions fry in bacon grease until light brown. Drain onions from bacon grease. Add crumbled bacon and fried onions to the potatoes and mash. Add buttermilk to achieve proper mashed potato consistency. Some who are not to worried about fat can add 2 tbls of bacon grease.
Serve on smaller plate along with a bowl of buttermilk and a spoon. Dip potato into buttermilk.
