  1. - In saucepan, saute onion, garlic, and spices in olive oil until translucent.
  2. - Add bell pepper and saute until veggies are crisp-tender.
  3. - Add tomatoes.
  4. - With a potato masher, crush the tomatoes and veggies until they're sufficiently small.
  5. - Boil sauce just until it just begins to thicken.
  6. - Add butter.
  7. - In a large saucepan, start the noodles. If the sauce is getting too thick, remove it from heat while the noodles cook. Make sure it's warm when you serve it, or else the cheese won't melt easily.
  8. - Serve noodles with sauce and cheese (generous servings of both).
