  1. -Clean asparagus by cutting off the bottom fibrous parts, about the thickest inch or two.
  2. -combine all ingredients, except the asparagus and bring to a boil.
  3. -place asparagus in a glass or nonreactive jar standing upright and pour the pickling liquid over, and allow to cool to room temperature before putting in the rifigerator.
  4. -keeps in the cooler for weeks.
