  1. 1. Prepare cake according to package directions.
  2. 2. Puree or mush blackberries. Mix in lemon juice. Brush mixture over prepared cake while the cake is still warm.
  3. 3. Let cake cool and cut into small, bite-size pieces.
  4. 4. Mix all remaining berries in large bowl.
  5. 5. Layer the bottom of a large glass bowl with cake squares. Spoon 1/3 of the prepared pudding on top. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the fruit and then remaining 1/2 of the whipped cream.
  6. 6. Repeat step 5 once.
  7. 7. To make the third layer, place cake squares on top. Spoon remaining 1/3 of the pudding. Using the canned cool whip, make decorative designs to cover pudding. Sprinkle with remaining berries.
  8. 8. Keep covered and chilled until ready to serve.
