  1. -finely chop green pepper and onion and add to bowl with egg, ketchup, and oatmeal (add salt and pepper to your taste preference)
  2. -mix together and add ground beef, blend thoroughly
  3. -press ingredients into standard loaf pan and top with a layer of ketchup (keeps it moist)
  4. -bake at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes or until no pink remains
  5. **hint for more kid friendly meatloaf--I have found that the finer I chop the green pepper and onion the less my kids notice it and the more they eat! (Chopping the green pepper too long in the food processor turns it to mush and makes the meatloaf too wet.) **
