  1. Preheat the oven to 350
  2. Put the chuck roast in a large (9x13 or larger) pan.
  3. Sprinkle the packet of onion soup mix over the roast. Spread the can of mushroom soup over the soup mix and roast.
  4. Place the potatoes, carrots, onion, mushrooms and celery around the roast.
  5. Cover the roast with aluminum foil and put in the oven. Cook for 3-4 hours. This also does well in a slow cooker for 7-8 hour.
