  1. 1. In a small bowl, combine kinako, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
  2. 2. In a small skillet, melt butter.
  3. 3. Add mochi rice cakes to skillet. Fry on one side until golden brown and crusty (inside should be soft).
  4. 4. Turn over and fry other side in same manner.
  5. 5. Remove from skillet and roll in kinako mixture untill well coated.
  6. Mochi can be fried directly from the freezer.
