Oreo Turkeys

"Adorable Oreo Turkeys are a hit with the kids and adults. They make a good school project or small gift for friends and family. They are easy to make and taste great if you can bear the thought of destroying the creation."

  1. 1.) Make a very think frosting of powdered sugar, milk, and a dash of vanilla.
  2. 2.) Divide oreos being careful to leave all the frosting on one side of the cookie.
  3. 3.) Cut off a very small, straight peice of cookie off the non-frosting halfs. Cut a very small, straight piece of only frosting (not cookie) off the frosting halfs.
  4. 4.) Use the frosting to paste 5 candy corn candies pointy side down (toward the cut-off flat side) to the non-frosting oreo halfs.
  5. 5.) Place the oreo halfs with the frosting on waxed paper, frosting side up. Use your frosting to paste the candy corn halfs onto the frosting halfs in an "L" shape.
  6. 6.) Use the malt balls as the main body and paste them into the crook of the "L"
  7. 7.) Paste with frosting the M&M head to the body.
  8. 8.) Cut the tip of the extra candy corns for the beak and place it on the head of the turkey. Place a cinnamon candy at the bottom as the waddle. It will also help to keep the beak in place.
