  1. This recipe is adapted from one in "The Joy of Cooking"
  2. Preheat oven to 425. Make sure there is a rack in the center of the oven. Tear off 12 pieces of foil, 12-15 inches long. Stack foil dull side up. Clean husks and silk off corn.
  3. Using a scant tablespoon of butter, butter an ear of corn (you don't have to be particular about covering all the kernels). Season to taste with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Roll in foil, twisting the ends to seal.
  4. Place foil packets directly on middle rack of oven. Cook for 45 minutes. Unwrap and enjoy!
