Carefully remove large cabbage leaves from each head. Boil leaves in water for 10 minutes until firm tender. Drain. In mixing bowl, add next 6 ingredients, salt and pepper and mix well. In large stock pot, pour just enough tomatoes and kraut to cover bottom. Begin rolling a large Tbl. of meat onto cabbage leaves, burrito style. Layer on bottom of pot with more tomatoes, kraut and salt and pepper. Keep layering until meat and cabbage run out. Pour tomato sauce on top. Cook over low flame for about an hour. Turn off heat for 1/2 hour before serving. This dish goes well with potato salad.
