For a formal presentation, use a large glass bowl. For more informal occasions, layer the ingredients in a 13x9 dish.
Crumble half of the cornbread in the bottom of the container. Top with half of the beans. In a small bowl, combine the tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Spread half of this vegetable mixture over the top of the beans and sprinkle with half of the cooked bacon. Add half of the cheese to this. Stir together the salsa and sour cream and spread over the cheese. (It's easier to drop by tablespoonfuls and spread gently.) Repeat the entire process with the remaining ingredients. Cover and chill several hours before serving.
