Saute chopped vegetables in two tbs. butter for 15 minutes. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a large pot. Add flour and cook for 5 min. Add vegetables, broth, artichoke hearts (quartered) and seasonings, simmer 30 min. Whisk in cream and add oysters. Heat thoroughly--DO NOT BOIL!!!!
Serve hot with a dash of paprika. Excellent with a green leafy salad and crusty french bread
