  1. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  3. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  6. 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  7. 3 eggs
  8. 2 cups sugar
  9. 2 cups peeled, grated pears
  10. 1 cup chopped pecans
  11. 2 teaspoons vanilla
  12. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Into the well add oil, eggs, sugar, grated pears, pecans and vanilla. Stir only until moistened.
  13. Grease and flour 2 (8-by-5-by-3-inch) loaf pans. Spoon batter into pans, dividing it evenly. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tests done. Cool before removing from the pans.
