  1. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and whisk to blend.
  2. In a large bowl cream together butter, brown sugar and vanilla.
  3. When smooth and blended, beat in egg.
  4. Add the flour mixture alternately with buttermilk or yogurt, beginning with flour and ending with yogurt.
  5. Beat until well blended.
  6. Spread the cake into a gareased 9-inch square or round baking pan.
  7. Cover the top of the batter with the blueberries and peaches.
  8. Combine flour, brown sugar and spices.
  9. Add buter and cut in with pastry blender until soft and crumbly.
  10. Sprinkle mixture over the fruit.
  11. Bake in 375 oven for 45 to 50 min.
  12. Serve warm or at room temp.
