  1. Melt butter and lightly brown broken up ramen noodles and almonds. Set aside.
  2. To make the dressing, mix oil, sugar, and soy sauce and whisk or mix with mixer or blender. (Can be made ahead and refrigerated, then brought to room temperature and whisked again before assembly.
  3. Assemble shortly before serving. Place cabbage in a large bowl and cover with the noodle and nut mixture. Toss lightly. Pour over dressing, then toss again. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
