"Here's a recipe I came up with to take backpacking in the outback up in Yosemite. Of course I dehydrated mine (easier to carry). Even the bears liked what they smelled!"

May we suggest



  1. Combine spices in a small bowl, then set aside.
  2. Chop all veggies and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter and saute veggies for 5 minutes, then add garlic.
  4. Continue sauteing until golden brown.
  5. Stir in seasoning mix, saute 5 more minutes, then remove from heat.
  6. In a large dutch oven, bring stock to boil, then add seasoned veggies and worcestershire sauce. Also, add the okra and tomatoes.
  7. Add bay leaves.
  8. Simmer on low to reduce for about an hour.
  9. Just before serving, add shrimp.
  10. Remove bay leaves and serve over white rice.
