For fruit filling: Heat cranberries over medium low heat. When they start to pop, stir occasionally, mashing against the side of pot, until all berries are popped. Reduce heat to low and add dates. Heat through. Turn heat off and mix in vanilla.
For oatmeal layer: In mixing bowl stir flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir in melted butter. Pat slightly more than half into bottom of an ungreased 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes. Carefully drop fruit filling by spoonfuls onto bottom layer, spreading carefully to cover. Sprinkle remaining oat mixture on top, patting gently. Bake 20-22 minutes more until it just begins to brown. Cool partially on wire rack.
For orange glaze: Mix 10X sugar, vanilla, and oj until drizzling consistency. Spread orange glaze on top while luke warm. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
