Love this site, and finally joined, will be back again I'm sure! Am going to read throught the picnic book and see what others think goes on picnics! At our house they were whatever mom could scrounge up for them, usually a sandwich of some cold meat, sometimes just bread and butter ones with baby horseradish leaves, or on the odd occasion a brown sugar raisin one. On one memorable occasion we had a homemade dish of Boston Baked beans with a green salad, and ham sandwiches which was great! Mostly we just had a thermos of coffee or tea and whatever was in the house, but I can remember going on (to me at the time) long walks to get to the picnic spot, and being soo hungry that plain old bread and butter (homemade bread of course) was the best!

I want to try all the recipes at least once!!! Maybe some twice. They are great. Since I live on Lake Oconee we eat outside most of the time. The summer picnic section is excellent. I plan to send some of my recipes for All Recipes to publish. Keep up the good food ideas. Lake Oconee Dawg (UGA)

I'm looking for some good recipes to serve to my card group. We meet in the afternoon and serve a light lunch. Quiche is always popular, as is bagels and various salads. It has to be something to eat quickly and then pick on as we play.

We picnic in the mountains almost every Saturday to escape the summer heat (and hubby's constantly-ringing cell phone!), and this collection of recipes will be put to good use this year! And I love the addition of a coloring page for the kids. Very nicely done!
