Never, ever put apples in Sangria because they are too tart. The Classic Sangria introduced by Lorenzo Granados, the father of Spanish cuisine in the U.S., used Oranges, Lemons & Peaches fresh from his farm in upstate NY. Sangria comes from the Spanish word for blood; hence, anything other than red is something else, but not Sangria. It's a drink to be enjoyed so make it to please yourself.
