While you’re grilling and gabbing and watching the Indy 500, take time to honor the true meaning of Memorial Day.
- Fly the flag. It’s traditional to hang it at half-staff from dawn until noon local time and observe a moment of silence at 3 p.m.
- Build community with a block party.
- Have the kids decorate their bikes and trikes
for a red, white, and blue parade.
- Wrap empty jelly
jars with red, white, and blue tissue paper to hold tea lights when evening comes.
