Quick Tips

The South Beach Diet® Quick Tip

Eggs Unlimited

Can you eat eggs every day of the week and still lose weight? The answer is yes. Research shows that eggs are actually good for you, contrary to what we once believed. Eggs have a neutral-to-favorable effect on cholesterol. Even the yolk has vitamin E and other important nutrients. Studies by the Harvard School of Public Health show that eating seven eggs a week is fine. If you have a history of cholesterol problems, however, and are consuming a large number of eggs, it’s a good idea to get your cholesterol levels checked.

How it Works

1 You’ll banish your cravings by following Phase 1 for two weeks. This kick-starts your weight loss while teaching you to avoid processed, unhealthy foods. No counting calories or going hungry. It’s that simple.
2 Next, you’ll move on to Phase 2, where you’ll learn to reintroduce good carbs such as fruits and whole grains. You’ll continue losing weight in this phase—while you learn how to eat better than you ever have in your life.
3 Once you’ve reached your goal weight, you’ll move to Phase 3—the maintenance Phase—where you’ll continue to make healthy eating choices and enjoy your favorite foods.
