  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix apple slices in bowl with 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar,cinnamon, and vanilla.
  3. Cover with chopped walnuts.
  4. CRUST;
  5. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar,l teaspoon cinnamon, and l teaspoon vanilla with flour.
  6. Cut in butter until crumbly. Spoon mixture over apples.
  7. Bake in preheated oven until apples are soft and top is lightly browned, about 60 minutes.
