Mom's Taco Casserole

One of the old time favorite mid-western comfort foods. My Mom found this and everyone I have shared it with has loved it. It freezes well, too!

Original recipe yields 6 servings

  1. 1)cook macaroni, drain and stir in 2 cups of the cheese and the milk, stir well
  2. 2) while macaroni is cooking brown the meat, drain off fat and add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, and chilli beans, set to simmer while you get the Mac & cheese mix together
  3. 3) when everything is together, place Mac & cheese mixture in a GREASED 3qt casserole and layer the meat mixture over top
  4. 4) either freeze OR bake at 350 for 20-25 mins, until piping hot all the way through. Top with optional toppings and enjoy
