This is a good, standard chili, with lots of ground beef, tomatoes, kidney and pinto beans, and onions. It needs to simmer for 90 minutes on the stove, or can be made in a slow cooker and left to simmer all day.

  1. Cook bacon in a large pan until crispy. Set aside to drain on paper towels.
  2. In the bacon grease, sauté the onion & peppers.
  3. Place ground meats in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and crumble.
  4. Mix the dry seasonings together.
  5. Layer everything in the crock pot, then stir together.
  6. Cook on low for 8 hours.
