oven Roasted Balsamic Pearl Onions

This is great to serve as a side dish or as a condiment for grilled steaks and other meats.

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F.
  2. Cut off the root end of the onions.
  3. In a large stockpot, bring water to a boil; add onions. Stir for 30 seconds then remove with a slotted spoon. Peel onions and place in a large bowl.
  4. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together wine, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and honey; drizzle all the sauce over onions.
  5. Arrange onions on a jellyroll pan. Sprinkle onions evenly with rosemary.
  6. Bake for 2 hours, stirring once or twice. Remove from oven and put into a serving bowl.
