This is a quick easy recipe, for lovers of fried eggs on toast. It's a clever twist on usual fried eggs.

  1. Heat a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. Using a glass or cookie cutter, create a hole in the middle of the bread, removing the center.
  3. Butter one side of the bread and the cut center with 1 teaspoon of butter.
  4. Place the bread plus the cut center into a heated skillet.
  5. Butter the upper side of the bread and cut center with the remaining butter.
  6. Crack the egg into the hole in the middle of the bread.
  7. Season the egg/bread with the salt and pepper.
  8. Fry the egg/bread for a couple of minutes or until the white sets.
  9. Carefully flip the egg/bread over and cook on the other side.
  10. Serve warm.
