New "Old Fashioned" Mac and Cheese

This is a classic recipe for macaroni and cheese. It uses four cheeses as well as a creamy white sauce. The kids will love this!

Original recipe yields 7 servings

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Prepare the elbow macaroni according to package directions.
  3. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Stir in the flour until a cream colored paste forms. Then pour in the milk and stir constantly until this comes to a hard boil, then stir for 1 more minute. Add cheeses gradually to melt and create creamy cheese sauce.
  4. Drain macaroni and add to cheese sauce. Pour into lightly greased casserole dish.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 45 minutes.

Awesome! I always add MORE cheese and throw in some pepper jack cheese too. Serve with stewed tomato's and it's the best meal ever!
