Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Just like yo Irish mama used to make and the brisket will melt in your mouth. Get a center cut of meat, not the "point." Leftovers make a great hash, too.

  1. Place the carrots, potatoes, and onion into the bottom of a slow cooker, pour in the water. Cover the meaty area with onion and garlic powder then, place the brisket on top of the vegetables, FAT SIDE UP. Pour the beer over the brisket. Sprinkle on the spices from the packet, cover, and set the cooker on LOW.
  2. Cook the brisket for about 10 hours. Remove the brisket, stir in the cabbage and cook on high for 30-45 minutes.
