  1. Take the chuck roast and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat large skillet to high heat. Add olive oil. Brown roast on all sides. Remove roast and allow to rest on plate for approx. 5 minutes. Deglaze pan with a small amount of your prepared beef broth. (add this mega flavor solution to crock pot.)
  2. Place everyone in the pool.
  3. Cover and cook on high setting for 2 hours and reduce to low for 6 hours.
