Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies


A great cookie...Be sure not to over cook them. They are the best a little on the "rare" side!

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla and egg until well blended. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the batter just until moistened.
  4. Gently mix in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Roll dough into small balls and flatten (Hint: The disc shaped cookies should now be about the size of the bottom of a coffe mug).
  6. Place them, well spread apart, on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Don't over cook.
  8. Cool on cookie sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to cool completely.
