A subtle variation on Lee Bremson's Curried Rice Pilaf recipe (which is very good!).

  1. In a medium skillet or sauce pan, saute onions, and garlic in oil until tender, being careful not to burn the garlic. Stir in rice, curry powder, garam masala, and cumin seeds and saute until rice and cumin seeds are well toasted, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Stir broth and salt into rice mixture. Cover and cook on low heat for 45-50 minutes or until rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed.
