  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cut the acorn squash in half, place flesh side up and place into a casserole dish or a roasting pan with a little water. Put the butter and brown sugar in the middle, sprinkle the nutmeg and cinnamon around edge and in the center.
  3. Then cook for 50 minutes, turn off oven and set it sit for an additional ten minutes.
