  1. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening until fluffy. Add sugar, and continue creaming until well blended.
  2. Add salt, vanilla, and whipping cream. Blend on low speed until moistened. Add additional 2 ounces whipping cream if necessary. Beat at high speed until frosting is fluffy.
  3. If making peanut butter frosting for a chocolate cake, Add 1/2 C. peanut butter to the Crisco and butter when you cream it.


So easy to make, pipes beautifully and doesn't taste like shortening. Not too sweet. Thanks for the recipe!

Best frosting I have ever made!

This was delicious, and it holds up well for decorating. I had to sub milk for the heavy cream but it was still smooth. I halved the recipe and had enough for 12 cupcakes.
