Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Beef sirloin cubes browned with garlic and onion then simmered in tomato sauce, beef broth and red wine until tender. Great over mashed potatoes.

  1. Cut beef into bite size pieces. In a large skillet over medium/high heat, heat the olive oil and brown beef cubes with the onion and garlic.
  2. Add broth, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, thyme and red wine. Cook covered for 45 minutes. Add fresh mushrooms and cook covered an additional 15 minutes. Mix cornstarch into water. Remove cover and add cornstarch/water mixture to thicken.
