I've been making banana bread for years using the same recipe. It always tasted good but it had shortening in it and I was looking for a recipe that didn't include it. I found this recipe and at first, I was skeptical about using sliced bananas rather than mashed, but I went ahead and followed the recipe and the bread turned out fantastic! It was so good, I made a second loaf that same day. I liked using the sour cream, it makes it super moist and really adds to the overall flavor. I left out the nuts and added sparkling white sugar to the top before baking. It gave it a nice crunch to go with the soft moist inside.
