Spicy Tortilla Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
These tasted a lot better than I thought they would. The only thing I didn't have on hand was the sliced pimento peppers. -And I couldn't find spinach tortillas the day I made them, but will find them next time to make them a little prettier. The hot pepper sauce livens it up just enough so they're more interesting than just the cream cheese flavor. My group of friends loved them, but if it were more than 4 people or so, I would double the recipe.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
I love this soup. Sometimes it turns out a little too thick so I do check on it towards the end to check the consistancy. I use some milk, besides water or chicken broth. Its good without so many of the extra veggies listed, too.

An easy & healthy soup. We're always trying to incorporate more veggies in our diet & this soup helps us accomplish that. A low-fat dinner that everyone eats up.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
Soooo good, and easy! Definitely a keeper. My family gets tired of the same old traditional pasta recipes. This was a refreshing change, and an excellent solution if your craving some seafood but don't want to spend a small fortune at a restaurant. Tastes like restaurant quality dish, and comes together so easily.

Arancini

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Almost like my mother-in-laws! I substituted the ham with ground beef and onions sautéed in home made marinara sauce and peas, and added a couple of pinches of saffron to the rice to give it an authentic color and flavor. After the rice is cooled I pre-made the rice balls then rolled LIGHTLY in the flour and let them sit slighlty. Then I used a teaspoon to make a small hole and stuffed them with the ground beef and shredded Mozzerella enclosed the hole and dipped it in the egg mixture and then bread crumbs. Finally I used a deep fryer to fry them. Next time I will use half the wine, since it was a little overbearing but all in all I was pleasantly surprised. Even my Mother-In-law was impressed. :-)

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings Tweaked by Lori

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
This was really good comfort food for a freezing day. I used a can of chicken broth instead of the water. Also I added a little thyme, garlic powder and poultry seasoning. I added some chopped carrots, sliced mushrooms and sliced celery. And I used just one can of the big biscuits. Definitely will make again!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
I normally make Banana Nut and Ginger Bread but didn't have a dark beer on hand so I made this instead. I thought it had a great flavor and enjoyed the sugar dusting on the pan, but I'm still partial to the other recipe. I changed the temp to 350 and cooked for just over an hour.

Broccoli and Onion Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
There are alot of foods that I will eat. Really, I'm easy to please but this is my least favorite of all the dishes I have made from this site. It's very bland, even with the S&P added to it. The broccoli turned out mushy (even though I used fresh and steamed as directed). I'm sorry but I won't be trying this one again. Even the little ones didn't like it and it has cheese on top!

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
I followed the reviewer by microwaving the sugar syrup in the microwave. Then I added ice to water to make up the last 7 cups. I ended up adding an extra half cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice to make it more lemony. My daughter loved making this with me.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I have been making this for about a year now and I no longer like the HVR bottled salad dressing that I LOVED for probably 25 years. This recipe is delicious, I make it exactly as written. It is so quick and easy and I always have all the ingredients on hand. Perfection! Thank you Dawnia! 10 stars plus!
