I took the easy way out and just mixed all the spices with the yogurt in the crockpot, without precooking the spices with the chicken. I'm sure if I had done that the flavours would have been even better. It was still really good and satisfying. I did add fenugreek and red chili powder as many other reviewers suggested. I also added a cup of chicken stock as I was worried there wouldn't be enough liquid to keep this moist for 10 hours while I was at work. I lightly crushed the cardamom pods, as my Pakistani friend advised me to, and put them into a coffee filter, which I folded like an envelope. Once I had mixed all the ingredients together, I submerged the filter. I will definitely make this again!
