My neighbor tells me this is pretty darn good, 4/5 stars. I didn't try it because I don't care for whiskey. Pretty drink!

Triple Fionn MacCool

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
I've made this twice now, just realized I never reviewed it. I typically don't care for alcohol mixed with dairy but this is nice. It tastes 'light', maybe because it uses milk instead of cream or half&half. If you like your drink to be creamier, I would use that instead. Nice night cap!

Pork Chops with Onions and Apples

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
Excellent, love all these flavors together! It was raining here so I cooked the chops in a skillet with a bit of olive oil. Next time I'll be sure to fix this on the grill.

Grilled Mediterranean Greek Pizza with Sundried Tomato Chicken Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
Really good pizza! I added onions since they are a must on any pizza we have, and I also added baby spinach near the end after the cheese was mostly melted. I found that one package of sausage was enough for 2 pizzas, so that's what I made. There was still lots of sausage on each one. Good stuff!

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
This soup is so delicious! I was skeptical, thinking it would be bland with basically no seasoning in the broth. I expected to have to add some herbs, salt, something....but I was wrong. The al fresco sausage was so flavorful that once I added it back in and let is simmer a bit the flavor was excellent. Red wine went into this soup since I had no white wine on hand. I did add fresh ground pepper and some grated fresh Pecorino cheese to serve. We all enjoyed this soup!

Kickin' Collard Greens

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
I have a love/hate relationship with collard greens! I love them when they are made by my neighbor and have always dislike them when I cooked them. This recipe made me happy, the whole family enjoyed them! I saw some reviews complaining of them being 'way too vinegary' but there is no vinegar in the recipe! I do agree that 3 cups of broth is about a cup too much. Just keep an eye on them and add more if needed. I cooked mine a full hour and they were tender.

Basic Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
These corn muffins were a bit too dry for our tastes, I see that some reviewers added an extra egg and that might be just what it needs. I would go with a bit more salt as well. This recipe gave me 12 very pretty muffins.

Grilled Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage with Tomato Cream Sauce Over Linguine

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
This was pretty tasty, although it was nothing memorable. The cabernet that I used made the sauce an unattractive color when it mixed with the tomatoes. I let the sauce simmer about 20 minutes before adding the cream to allow it to thicken. I also found myself smooshing the tomato chunks to help with the thickening. It came out nice, the flavor was good and we all enjoyed it. My DD complained it was a little too sweet. I'm not sure if that was from the sausage or the cream.

Garlic and Herb Pull Apart Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
I needed some kind of quick garlic bread tonight but had no french loaves or other bread to start with. I came across this recipe and had everything on hand except for the dried parsley. I grabbed fresh parsley from the garden and threw this together. What a hit and less than 30 minutes from start to table!

Summer Pasta Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
This is quite good, but the next time I make it, I think I'll leave out the broccoli, it just didn't seem to 'work' in this salad. I didn't have any salami so I left that out and probably used quite a bit less pepperoni..maybe a bit over 1/4 lb. I can't imagine putting a whole pound of meat in here. Otherwise, it was pretty good!

Perfect just as it is, delicious! I offered vinegar and several mustards as condiments for this. Everyone loved it! So easy to put together, thank you KITKATY!

Irish Steaks

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
Very good, this recipe turned out a very flavorful and tender steak. I would recommend removing the onions after caramelizing a bit, before adding the steak to the pan. My steaks took about 8 minutes total and by then the onions were blackening. Next time I'll add a touch of cream to the whiskey sauce and simmer a bit. Don't be afraid of the whiskey leaving too strong a flavor, it doesn't!

Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
Great sweet and sour type salad! I wouldn't recommend using the canned peas, they are mushy enough even before marinating. I used frozen peas straight out of the bag, no need to thaw. I prefer yellow or red peppers over green, so that's what I used. I would make this again, it's quick and easy to throw together.

Chicken Riggies

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
Outstanding dish, so flavorful..a little spicy and spot on! I had a few turkey cutlets to use up, so I went with that instead of the chicken and I had half & half on hand so I used that. I served this with shaved parm cheese on top and a nice green salad. We loved this!

Jen's Heavenly Egg Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
We loved this fresh tasting egg salad! I wanted to do a bigger batch so I doubled everything except the lemon juice, kept that at half a lemon. I did add a stalk of celery finely diced for a little crunch, perfect, I like how the lemon makes it a little 'spritzy'. For those who don't enjoy lemon, choose another recipe!

Spring Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Just incredible! The only change I made was to use dried cherries that needed using up, the biscotti is the perfect texture and looks so pretty. I made a double batch for a teacher supper on conference day, and a couple of the teachers tracked down which parent made the biscotti and asked for the recipe!

Milly's Oatmeal Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
These are amazing! So quick and easy to throw together and wonderfully moist and chewy. I added milk chocolate chips, no nuts or raisins since they were made for a function and I was worried about nut allergies and raisin haters! I left only one on the table for my hubby and he was ticked that's all he got! Excellent. Addendum: I made these again today, and once again they deserve 5 stars! This time I put in a handful of chopped walnuts and some mini chocolate chips. I love these with or without the optional items. Thank you Milly for sharing this recipe, love these 'brownies'!

Cosmo-Style Pomegranate Martini

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
I was pleasantly surprised by this martini, delicious! I don't enjoy sweet or fruity drinks much so I was a bit skeptical of this one, but it is fresh and tart. Oh, it's quite potent too! I'll be making these often, thanks Kim!

Onion Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
When I need to get dinner in the oven quickly, this is the recipe I'll use! I didn't have onion soup mix, so I used a half packet of italian salad dressing mix and it was so good. I used chicken thighs and drumsticks...so moist!

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
These are pretty good, my DD loves them, DH isn't too fond of them and he's got the biggest sweet tooth in the house! After melting the chocolate and peanut butter, I tasted it and thought it needed something else. I stirred in a cup of white chocolate chips and the flavor was greatly improved. I decorated the stacks with a few white chocolate chips for color.
