About this Cook
Married with 2 kids, 24 and 18. DH and DD (24) are not too picky, but DS (18) has autism and is very picky. Finding recipes that he'll eat is a challenge but he likes pb&j's on those nights when we just have to have something we love and he doesn't. We love most anything so it makes cooking a real joy!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook. Baking...not so much! DH bakes but I have issues with measuring things exactly. I'm more of a "free-spirit" cook! If you read one of my reviews and it says something like "followed the recipe very closely", that translates to "I actually used measuring utensils to get it right!".
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love holiday cooking... lots of food and those "special" things. We tend to have baked turkey, green bean casserole, and those "holiday" things often during the year because we just love them!
My cooking tragedies
Gravy! I have never been able to master the whole gravy thing. My first attempt, years ago, was a true disaster! A friend had told me how to make gravy (I was 18 at the time) but she forgot to mention that I should pour out most of the oil. After adding 2 bags of flour in an attempt to come up with something edible, I gave up!! It was funny but awful!

Yellow Squash Casserole
Loved it! Family loved it! Definitely making this one again. Only change was I used "Honey butter" R*tz crackers because I didn't have the regular buttery crackers but it was GREAT!
