Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I have never been able to make good fudge, this recipe came out perfect. My advice is to take your time. Start cooking on low. Then when everything is melted and mixed, I turned the heat to med. It took awhile for it to get to boiling. It was a gentle boil and not a rolling boil. Also i used another reviewers advice and used ghirardelli chocolate. This does come out a milk chocolate fudge. I would recommend using more semi-sweet if you want it to be more bittersweet.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I doubled this recipe, added a minced clove of garlic and used a good sirloin cut. If you are a loyal stroganoff person you wont be overly impressed. My kids did like it, but my husband and I preferred the original. We still added sourcream because cream cheese did not give it the added tang we like. It was good for a crock pot recipe but if you are a loyal stroganoff person you wont be overly impressed.

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
this was really good. I didnt have much ketchup so I used tomato paste mixed with a bit of water. I took the advice of someone else and molded a loaf in cake pan, this allowed for the grease to poured off. Family of 7 loved it

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
A family hit. I made some changes. Fresh chopped tomatoes instead of canned,2 cloves of garlic, minced, basmati rice added to the cooked meat mixture with 1 cup water and cooked til tender. I did not have cheddar so i used what I had which was a provolone/mozz/parm blend. I also used tomato paste mixed with water for the topping. Super yummy!

These were really yummy. My husband and 5 children ages 7-15 loved them. I did not have applejuice so i used briggs apple cider vinegar instead and I used boneless chops. Very flavorful.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2002
I have never had good luck with fried chicken so this was a wonderful surprise. My family of 7 devoured it. With 5 children under the age of 8 and a husband who hates chicken, I would say that is an accomplishment! Thanks

Betz's Good Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2002
I too failed to read the reviews and ended up with a very sticky dough. I had tripled the recipe to provide enough cookies for my 4 childrens classrooms. I had no choice but to work with it. I added lots more flour and worked with a small amount of dough at a time. I got rave reviews on them. I think I will make them again, but this time i will be prepared for the flour addition!

Chili I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2002
I gave this 4 only because my husband and mother in law loved it. It was way to sweet and I added more coffee, beer and tomatoes than what the recipe called for. I probably wont make it again, but for those who like sweet chili go for it!
