About this Cook
I'm a single parent of a 16 year old son. I have 2 grown daughters and a grandson, who is the love of my life. All of my children helped me in the kitchen as soon as they could stand on a chair. My grandson does the same. I have an amazing boyfriend, that incidentally, does not even know how to fry an egg....so I do all of the cooking in our home. I love it more than ever now. I am trying new things almost daily and love to experiment. My family is full of great cooks, both men & women.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook italian. I love the rich and robust flavors. I am really cooking a lot of new things now as I have much more time with only one child in the home.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has always cooked down home comfort foods. Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Roasted Meats & always canned our own vegetables, etc. I will always still cook those "comfort" foods.
My cooking triumphs
Chicken Cacciatore - This is one of my specialties. :) I serve it over Angel Hair Pasta. I also make an amazing Chili :)
My cooking tragedies
Too many to name. I think that if you don't have tragedies you can't learn the in's and out's of cooking.

Bourbon Sausage
I made these for an Ugly Sweater party and they were a big hit! I didn't have any cocktail sauce so I used ketchup and added some minced garlic. As per other reviews, I browned the sausages in a skillet and added the other ingredients. I added an extra shot of bourbon because I love the flavor. They were the first appetizer that was gone and a huge hit!

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire
This is absolutely delish!! I used dried pineapple, apricots and white raisins for my dried fruit. I also used mandarin oranges -draining most of the juice. I made it a few days ahead and it is even better so makes this a great time saver rather than making it on the holiday. I will be making this every year.

Pepperoni Meatza
I loved this! I'm doing a gluten free low carb diet and this was perfect. I did make variations. I used organic tomato sauce and added Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and Parmesan cheese to make my own low-carb sauce. I had some pork sausage so I added that to the beef. I added Italian seasoning and didn't use caraway seeds. I added green and black olives, fresh mushrooms, pepperoni, and a Mexican blend cheese. YUM will make this a lot as I love pizza and this is better than a flour crust to me!
