Caveboy Casserole

Amazing flavors! We loved it. Used Taco Seasoning recipe from this site, and topped with cornbread mix and sour cream, so not technically Paleo. But FOR SURE we will make this many times! Delicious!

Chef John's Coq Au Vin

I am not a fan of red wine, but..... Made as written and the chicken had an amazing 'deep' flavor. So good. Thanks again to Chef John.

Sweet Hot Mustard Chicken Thighs

Another winner from Chef John. Marinated for 24 hours. Amazing flavors and VERY moist. Did NOT get a chance to taste the onions since my husband snarfed them all. Next time I will double the onions, for sure!

We LOVED it. Used only 1 sweet potato for chips. And the Guacamole Recipe by Bob Cody from this site.

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2015
My husband was not particularly looking forward to this. I told him that it was mashed potatoes and cabbage. He frowned. I said, "It has bacon." He gave me a sneer. But when the entire dish was completed, he LOVED it. He isn't a savage, after all. He even mashed the potatoes!

Easy and rich ketchup that fills all of your needs for a ketchup fix while using ingredients which are fresh and much better for you than bottled!

Chicken Bacon Rice Bowls

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2015
Made this recipe exactly as written. When served, it was overwhelmed by the green chilies. MUCH better the next day. I will probably make this again, but definitely use only 1 can of chilies.

I agree that 3 cups of water is WAY too much. Good flavor. I may make it again.

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2015
This is in reply to Rodrigo: I added photos of what I have in my pantry. Sorry that you don't have it where you live, but please don't rate a recipe you have NOT made based upon your preconceived ideas. If you give me your address, I will be more than happy to send you the ingredients so you can actually rate THE RECIPE.

Chef John's Bacon Jam

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2015
I used more like 2 pounds of bacon, dried thyme, and sherry wine. Cooked for longer than instructed, trying to get 'brick red' color. SO good. Would it be illegal to just eat this with a spoon?

Paleo Chachouka

It took a bit longer than stated to reduce the tomato liquid, and longer to cook the eggs, but a very easy and flavorful dish.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2014
Per another reviewer, I doubled all of the ingredients except for the whiskey and used half the amount of almond extract. USE cream, but remember that if you blend it for too long it will want to turn into butter. That may be the reason some reviewers reported it 'separating'. This is a delicious recipe, and I can't wait to take it to the family for Christmas! (I may have sampled it...) Thank you for the recipe.

Chef John's Chicken and Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2014
If all of the reviews would only reflect the recipe AS WRITTEN, this is, in fact, a time-consuming, OVERLY spiced knock-off chicken and dumpling recipe that is NOT what I expect from Chef John. The result is 1/4 inch deep in butter fat and the only flavor, other than that of the fresh spices, is TOO MUCH PEPPER. A teaspoon of white pepper, a teaspoon of black pepper, and a teaspoon of Cayenne is overkill. Usually Chef John's recipes include a reasonable amount of pepper. I DO know enough to change the amounts of spice, but will only rate a recipe on making it AS WRITTEN. This is not good. P.S. Chef John, I still love you.

Turkey Wild Rice Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2014
Used Chef John's recipe for roasted turkey, which was amazing. Made this soup today and took a shortcut by using packaged brown and wild rice with seasoning packet. Increased the veggies and left out the almonds. Very, very good (and rich) soup. Will definitely use this recipe again. Thank you.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Made this as written BUT it totally stuck to my electric skillet and made me use a lot of bad words. Switched to my good frying pan and they turned out great. Wonderful pancakes. Added some chocolate chips to a few. I also ordered a new electric skillet. Thank you for the recipe.
