About this Cook
I'm a cheese-lover who just recently found out about a dairy and gluten allergy. It's made me change my entire cooking routine. To help keep me motivated to cook the foods I *should* be eating, I've created a cooking club with friends. A chance for all of us to practice new recipes, taste test them together and a way for everyone to hone their skills in a fun, social setting.
My favorite things to cook
Past: Mac and Cheese, I had just perfected my recipe when I found out about my dairy issues. Present: tbd
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies and goodies including: rosettes, caramel corn, lefse, spritz, and many more.
My cooking tragedies
1. MANY mac and cheese mishaps before perfecting the recipe. 2.) Lighting the stove on fire while making spring rolls.

Tofu Parmigiana
This was great. I took the advice of a couple other reviews and made the following changes: Cut tofu slices and pressed between paper towels to get the water out Dipped slices in egg, then in bread crumbs, then fried. I also added some sauteed onions and garlic. My meat loving hubby said this was a keeper.

Pet Cookies
My dog (and the neighbor dogs) chowed down on these cookies. I made a second batch using some sweet potato puree that I had on hand. Great base recipe that would still be good with different baby foods. I'll use this again and again.

Easy Meatloaf
Both my husband and I have childhood fears of meatloaf. However, since we recently bought half a cow, we needed new ways to cook ground beef. I decided to try this recipe and it was DE-LISH! I followed the recipe exactly as written and then added a coupe additional things 1.) 1 Tsp. of Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tsp. of Liquid Smoke, and 1 Tsp. of beef seasoning. Highly recommend this recipe. It was even better as leftovers.
